Business Skills Migration
The majority of business entrants will enter Australia on a 4 year temporary visa, generally moving onto permanent residence after 2 years after they have fulfilled their business obligations.
Business Skills visas are for people who intend to establish and participate in a business in Australia that can achieve at least one of the following:
- Develop business links with international markets
- Create or maintain employment in Australia
- Export Australian goods
- Produce goods or services that would otherwise be imported
- Add to commercial activity and competitiveness within sectors of the Australian economy

For people who have a successful business or investment career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia |
Criteria:
- Under 45
- Vocational English
- Owns 10% of a business with $500,000 in annual turnover
- $400,000 business assets
- $1.5 million in total assets

- Total assets of $500,000

- 3 years experience in business/investment management
- Owns $1.5 million investment portfolio, or 10% ownership in a business
- Total assets of $2.25 million
- Will invest $1.5 million into designated Australian investment

- Owns $400,000 in nett business assets
- 10% ownership in a company (if publicly listed)
- $3 million turnover in business
- Total assets of $1.5 million that can be transferred to Australia
- Under 55
- Sponsored by a state or territory of Australia

There is also a range of business visas in the State / Territory sponsored categories which have more relaxed criteria, with regards to age, and financial requirements, thereby making them easier to qualify for.
