Employer Nominated Scheme (Subclass 121/856)

 

This is a Permanent Residence visa, usually for applicants that have held a temporary business (work) visa for 2 years, or that have qualifications and work experience.

 

This scheme allows Australian employers to fill vacancies in the job market. Applicants must be employed in an approved occupation.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be under 45 years of age
  • Have “Vocational English”
  • Be qualified for the occupation (work experience may be enough in some cases)

Applicant must satisfy one of these criteria:

Either:

All of the following:

  1. Hold a current 457 visa
  2. Have been employed in a Skilled Occupation for at least 2 years in Australia
  3. Have been employed by the current employer for at least one year

Or,

Both of the following:

  1. Skills to be assessed in accordance with their occupation which is found on the Skilled Occupations List
  2. Must have worked in the occupation for at least 3 years

Or,

  1. Be paid a highly paid salary for senior executives ($165,000)
